Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean, has a history vastly different from that of Italy. This course surveys its long, complicated history and the many different peoples and cultures that formed this unique island “nation.” This is a travel history course with PowerPoint presentations of the riches from the past in cities, art, archeology, architecture and people.

Instructor Richard Wagner has taught history, geography and related areas for four decades and has taken approximately 100 international trips, including a recent trip to Sicily.
