Then a groundskeeper will explain how Sec Taylor Field, one of the best in the Pacific Coast League, is maintained. Although Principal Park hosts almost half a million spectators each season, fans don’t usually see more than the stadium exterior and the playing field. The tour of the stadium will include sky boxes, press box, club house and Sec Taylor Field. In recent years an entire new playing surface was installed and extended netting behind home plate was added to protect fans.

When the Cubs are home the following week, you will have a reserved seat for a game with the Omaha Royals.

Head Groundskeeper Chris Schlosser was recognized in 2010 with the PCL Sports Turf Manager of the Year Award. The support staff of groundskeepers annually rate among the best in the league. Iowa Cubs employees will conduct the tour of Principal Park.
