Crossroads in History

We know that history is often reflected in the biographies of many people. This fall we will review the lives of some of these inspiring men and women whose accomplishments have transformed our times. Our study will include the inspiring stories of “The Lion of Sparta” at Thermopylae, the many accomplishments of Leonardo da Vinci, General Washington at Trenton, and Winston Churchill at the Battle of Britain.


Instructor Jack Thornton has taught western civilization with emphasis on European history for more than 40 years. He taught AP European history at Valley High School and was an adjunct instructor at DMACC West. Jack holds degrees from Doane College and the University of Nebraska and says he has enjoyed his many teaching experiences with Senior College.
