2019 is the five hundredth anniversary of the Spanish Conquest of New Spain (Mexico). This course explores the interactions of peoples and cultures from pre-Hispanic times to the present. Essential themes of Mexican history are examined through PowerPoint presentations.


Instructor Richard Wagner has graduate training in British and English history and teaches history, geography and related areas. He has visited Latin America and Europe numerous times. Dick became fascinated with the 15th and 16th centuries as a high school student, stimulated by the great historical novels of Thomas Costain.
