Professional Tips for Successful Planting

If you’ve ever wondered why some of your landscape plants just never quite “took off," it may be because they didn’t get a good start due to poor planting techniques. We’ll look at the myths and mysteries around successful planting of annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees as well as methods for dividing and transplanting in the landscape. Wear your garden duds, bring your spade and we’ll learn together!


Instructor Anne Larson is a graduate of ISU’s horticulture program and a veteran landscape consultant, designer and gardener. She is a certified Iowa Rainscape Professional and writes for Iowa Gardener Magazine and other area publications. Anne is also the owner of The Iowa Garden Coach, a Des Moines consulting and designing firm.
