Take a tour of Hoyt Sherman Place to learn about and reflect upon the building’s history and influence, both past and present on the people of Central Iowa. Learn about Hoyt Sherman himself and the impact he made on a growing Des Moines. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Hoyt Sherman Place facility is made up of three major components. See the Theater and hear about the number of historic figures who have appeared on its stage, walk through the Mansion where Hoyt and his family lived and finally browse through the first public Art Gallery of Des Moines.

Tour Director Evan Fischer is an event coordinator at Hoyt Sherman Place and has been working there since shortly after his May 2016 graduation from Central College. While working at Hoyt Sherman Place, Evan has worked with a variety of musicians, comedians and other performers while they tour the country. He also works with local clients, ensuring that their events are the best they can possibly be.
