Bicycles and Biking Around America

Have you ever wondered about all the different bicycles that are available for purchase? How do you know which to buy? Tom will bring his touring bicycle and describe the differences between touring bicycles and commonly used road bikes. He will explain how to create your own tour and the resources and gear needed. Tom will share his adventures biking from Los Angeles to Washington, DC, New Orleans to Canada, Key West to Bar Harbor, and Chicago to Santa Monica on Route 66. He will provide useful tips on how to decide what kind of bike to purchase and the importance of safety.

 

Instructor Tom Schoelerman is a financial planner with Ameriprise Financial. His biking experience includes biking across the US in 1995, doing numerous RAGBRAIs and other routes across America. Tom has ridden over 50,000 miles.
