One Man’s Journey:
Insights and Inspiration from the Holocaust
Single Day Event: Wednesday, September 6, 10–11:30 AM
Location: WDM United Methodist Church
Class Limit: 24
A multimedia presentation will detail Ron Krull’s participation in the prestigious “Teachers’ Seminar on the Holocaust and Jewish Resistance,” which was designed by Warsaw ghetto survivors to ensure that another generation of American educators would continue telling the stories of Holocaust survivors. Seminar participants visited Poland’s death camps, Jerusalem, and a northern Israel kibbutz. This presentation, designed to be uplifting and inspirational, includes insights into how Adolph Hitler was able to carry out such a monstrously evil scheme and how history has passed judgment.
Instructor Ron Krull taught 33 years in the Ames Community School District. He was Iowa’s representative to the Teachers’ Seminar in the summer of 1996. Ron co-founded and directed the district’s championship Mock Trial, National History Day, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Black History Showdown teams. He received both the Iowa Council for the Social Studies and Daughters of the American Revolution State Teacher of the Year awards.
